‘Tis the season for thankfulness and good cheer! The holidays provide a perfect opportunity to reflect on the blessings of the year and what we’re grateful for. Here at Weatherly Inn, we’re taking time to appreciate our favorite things of the holiday season.

Autumn’s Outdoor Beauty

“I like fall colors, pumpkins, and crisp cold mornings. I like having fun with residents, walking and driving to see the changing of the leaves.” —Cindy, Activity Director

Special Traditions

“I love the special traditions that bring together our residents and staff, their families (especially the little ones), and other guests. The decorations. . . and holiday meals we share together are truly at the heart of what makes Weatherly Inn a special place to work and to live”. —Alex L., Marketing Director

Good Food and Music

“I enjoy Memory Care’s Thanksgiving Luncheon. It’s a great time with lots of families and friends, good food, and piano music by Ben Brown.” —Katie, Activity Coordinator

Turkey Gifts

“Giving turkeys is one small way our company shows gratitude to our employees. They have to lug the turkeys home, thaw them, and cook them. The resulting memories are priceless.” —Alex B., President & CEO

Festive Preparations

“I love all of the brainstorming and preparation that goes into making Christmas fun and festive for residents and employees, from the White Christmas Market to the Employee Christmas Parties, from Christmas cards to Christmas presents, and from referral gifts to seasonal decor.” —Karla, Project Coordinator

Holiday Decor and Goodies

“I enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations that the office manager puts out in the management office and the sampling of Christmas goodies throughout the season. It really adds to the mood of the holidays in the workplace.” – Gloria, Bookkeeping Manager

Cozy Fireplaces

“I love the cozy feeling with all of the fireplaces burning and how our building is transformed into a winter wonderland with all of the beautiful Christmas trees and holiday decor throughout the building.” —Andrea, HR Coordinator

Happiness and Joy

“I love the way people are happy and smiling during the holidays. It's like everyone forgets any not-so-good stuff and their focus is on “Peace on earth, good will toward men.” It just fills my heart with joy!” —Laura, Environmental Services Director

Christmas Gift Fund

“I love working on the Employee Christmas Gift Fund. It is so much fun including the residents in helping to distribute their cash gift to employees in the Fireside Room every year. Employees get to say thank you in person, and residents get to see employees from all over the building and from all shifts and to see how grateful they are to receive this gift. It makes the week before Christmas really special in our community.” —Gaby, Office Manager

The Season’s Magic

“I like the magical feeling of the season. The holiday spirit that makes everyone so joyful and bring families together warms my heart.” —Sherry, General Manager

Christmas Carols and Holiday Events

“Christmas is a time of giving and sharing; it is by far my most favorite time of the year. I enjoy listening to Christmas carols by our community partners, attending the Festival of Trees with our residents, and seeing family members join us for their favorite holiday events. It is truly a magical time during this season.” —Joshua, Life Enrichment Director

In the midst of the busy season, take a few moments to reflect each day on the things that bring you joy. Savor those moments as the gifts they truly are!
